At Hospo (a product by S-Tech), we are committed to protecting the privacy of our restaurant owners (Merchants) and their dining guests (End Users). This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to provide and improve our services:
- Merchant Account Information: When you register a restaurant on Hospo, we collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, and password.
- Guest Dining Data: To enable QR ordering, guests remain anonymous by default. We do not require guests to create an account, download an app, or provide phone numbers. We collect table identifiers, ordered items, and session duration.
- Usage Data: We collect technical logs (IP addresses, browser type, device type) to secure our infrastructure and prevent fraud.
2. How We Use Information
S-Tech processes information to:
- Provision and manage your digital menus, kitchen displays, and order session queues.
- Calculate GST (15%) and present compliant order summaries.
- Improve operational performance, troubleshoot connection drops, and deliver support.
- Send operational updates, email confirmations, or reset passwords. We do not spam.
3. Information Storage and Security
All data is processed securely and stored in data centres using industry-standard SSL encryption. We take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. Guests' dining tokens expire automatically when the dining session is closed by staff or times out.
4. Sharing of Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. S-Tech may share data with trusted infrastructure providers (e.g. database hosting, email services) solely to execute the service, subject to strict confidentiality terms.
5. Your Rights Under the Privacy Act 2020
You have the right to request access to and correction of any personal information we hold about you. If you wish to inspect or correct your restaurant profile, please contact our support team at privacy@stechkt.co.nz.
